Bright red lipstick: hot or trashy?

In your opinion, is red lipstick hot or trashy?





If I'm not wearing much other make up, just a tiny bit of foundation, black mascara and nails will be the same red as my lipstick. (clothes= black leggings, black high heels and a pale dusky-pink top with silk detail on one ';sleeve';). It's for the evening. Oh and I have bright (natural + few highlights) blonde hair.Bright red lipstick: hot or trashy?

Red lipstick is one of the best ways of drawing attention to yourself and it can look fantastic.





Make sure the lipstick has purple hues to the red rather than orange ones otherwise it can make your teeth look yellow. Make sure you apply it with a brush and blot and reapply to make it stay on. Stick your finger in your mouth and make an O shape round it to stop it getting on your teeth.





When wearing red lipstick, keep eye make up to a minimum - a sweep of eyeliner and mascara is plenty as you don't want the eye to be distracted on your face. You can also try a spot of glitter gloss in the centre of the bottom lip to give you a big pout.

on some people it looks trashy but on others it looks hot. it looks better most of the time for evening events and stuff like that but it looks nicer on brunettes most the time but i would put some on and look in the mirror and see how it looks on you. everyone is different. hope i helped :)


p.s. if u decide not to go with the red then i would use some more natural coloured lipstick almost the same shade as the colour of your lips. :)
well if you have the confidence to wear it, then who cares what anyone thinks? In response to your actual question, it looks hot when you wear it with the right make up and clothes i.e a flick of liquid liner and lashings of mascara can give you a sexy and sophisticated 50s look. Just don't wear it with hot pink blusher and blue eyeshadow unless you wanna look like a sidewalk sally!
It really depends on the person actually. Some people look good in it and other people just plain look stupid and trashy with it. If you were maybe going to a concert or something then go for it. If you are going out doing something else like meeting the boyfriens parents, dinner at a nice restaurant, that sort of thing then steer away from it!!!!

like i thnk its a really bad idea to wear bright red lipstick on a date as if you kiss the boy, hed probaly hate it, :-)

bright red is VERY VERY VERY bright and most definitely gets attention. why don't you try like a medium pink or very light red. :)
it really depends on your skin tone to whether you can pull it off or not if you have very pale skin or very dark skin then go for it otherwise i would say no :D
red lip stick is nice but can be really cheap and trashy so i suggest that you maybe only wear it sertain day or times becuase if not you may look like a walking tomatoe!

Try something like a light pink or a neutral colour lipgloss.
Depends on your skin tone, in my opinion. I'd say fair skin (not too dark or tan or too pale) would look great with red lipstick. Look at magazine photos.
Very bright red is ok, and quite edgy, but full reds can be a little trashy.
